FULL TIME PHYSIOTHERAPIST PRIVATE PRACTICE POSITIONS (New Grad Applications Welcome)
The successful physiotherapists will be working within a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiology, and remedial massage in our clinics through the Hunter Valley
Located over three locations in the Hunter Valley – Maitland, Kurri Kurri, and Dungog – our clinics are in the heart of the valley while still a stone’s throw from Newcastle through the Hunter Expressway. Since opening in 1971, we are a well-established and progressive practice with a loyal existing client base, and an extensive GP and specialist referral network.
The position provides exposure to a varied caseload of paediatric and adult clientele with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and sporting, neurological, and rehabilitation presentations, while developing your skills as a budding musculoskeletal physiotherapist through our comprehensive mentoring program through the duration of your new graduate year.
Mitchell Integrated Therapy have several special interest therapists that can provide elite mentorship in their areas to develop your skills across everything private practice physiotherapy has to offer, including: Women’s and Men’s Health, Stroke Rehabilitation, Hand Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, Chronic and Complex Pain, and Return to Sports.

- Minimum tertiary Bachelor of Physiotherapy qualification (or equivalent)
- Professional registration through AHPRA as a physiotherapist
- APA Membership and associated indemnity insurance
- Current driver’s licence
- National Police Check (NPC) and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Enthusiasm for treating people from all walks of life with any form of presentation
- Passion for physiotherapy and desire to better yourself and your practice
- Time management, planning, and communication skills
- Willingness to learn under senior staff and develop your manual and exercise-based skills

As part of our commitment to the development of physiotherapists we take fourth year undergraduate physiotherapy students on five-week placements. Our students come from The University of Newcastle as a commitment to support a local university and the Hunter region.
Our students are integrated into the physiotherapy team and are expected to function as part of a dynamic team. If you would like to do a placement at Mitchell Physiotherapy, ask your university clinical placement coordinator to contact us.

The practice principle Caroline Cooper has over 20 years working experience in physiotherapy. Caroline is keen to share her experience with other physiotherapists and provides sound leadership.
We run weekly in-service programs for all physiotherapy staff and a tutorial program for new graduate staff. Mitchell Physiotherapy demonstrates its commitment to further education by providing each of its staff members with a yearly professional development budget.
