Do I need to see my Doctor before starting Physiotherapy?
No. In Australia, Physiotherapists are Primary Care Clinicians qualified and skilled in the management of musculoskeletal injury, dysfunction or derangement. You do not need a referral to see a Physiotherapist. However, our team will your ask about who your Doctor is so that your Doctor is informed about your condition and progress. If your problem is related to WorkCover, DVA, EPC or CTP, you will require a GP referral and appropriate proof of liability.
Do I need a referral?
A referral is not needed unless you are claiming your treatment through DVA, WorkCover, EPC or CTP. If you have any queries regarding claiming your treatment, please contact reception on (02) 4933 6895
How long is an appointment?
Most consults are 30 minutes long. We feel that this time is necessary to accurately assess, treat and educate you about your injury and recovery. If you have multiple injuries to be assessed or have a complicated history, then an hour consult may be required (this can be discussed with your therapist). Massage appointments are for 60 minutes,
How do I pay?
Payment is required at the time of treatment. Payment can be made with cash, debit card or credit card (Amex, Visa or MasterCard). Please bring your private health insurance card to take advantage of HICAPS. EPC claims will need to be processed in full, and we can rebate back into a EFTPOS (savings or cheque) account or you can see Medicare for the rebate.
Are rebates available?
Rebates are available on all our services through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover. If your health fund is not registered for HICAPS, we will supply you with a receipt to claim your rebate back. Please be aware that amounts vary between insurance companies and we recommend that you contact your insurer for more information regarding your individual cover. The physiotherapy code for Assessment is 500 and for Subsequent 505.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We require a minimum of 12 hours notification of cancellation prior to your scheduled appointment, otherwise a cancellation fee may be incurred. SMS reminders will be sent the day before your appointment.
