Maitland Pickers
Maitland Pickers represents a proud heritage of past teams initially established in 1927. The Current Pickers continue this legacy with a commitment to ensure Maitland remains one of the most well known Rugby League towns in Country Rugby League. The Pumpkin Picker emblem remains at the forefront of a club representing one of the largest junior nursery’s in Australia. This Junior nursery as well as the clubs proud history and the knowledge of representing one of the fastest growing communities in NSW requires an ongoing commitment and level of professionalism by all stakeholders to ensure the long term viability of this proud club. The following are just a few Maitland Players whom went on to represent at a higher level.

The Maitland Rugby Union Club has a long and prestigious history that started over 125 years ago, in 1877. Since its inception, the Club has gone through a number of changes – from Club name, playing colours and the playing fields – but the spirit and strength of the “Blacks” has always been present which reflects in the local presence and the on field performance.

Abby Cooper
Showjumper
Abby has been a horse rider for most of her life and has recently shifted to mainly showjumping. She currently show jumps at a high level all around the country and is aiming to compete in world cup qualifiers in the near future. Mitchell Physiotherapy proudly sponsors Abby as she competes successfully in her chosen sport. Recently Abby Won a competition called the Six Bar in Bega where she was required to jump 1.60m.

Kurri Kurri District Rugby League Club has played a prominent part in the history of Kurri Kurri and surrounding districts and nearly goes back as far as the town itself, which was proclaimed on the 25th of October 1902. It is well known and respected for it’s football prowess and the amazing feat of winning three consecutive Premierships in 1993, 1994 & 1995, after a 48 year Premiership drought is symbolic of the Kurri Kurri Club Progress, that has been based on sheer hard work by Officials and the loyalty and dedication of its players and those ever so important unique supporters.
